[Reverbia Camp Organizers] Total Eclipse of the Sun
                    THIS SUMMER!

Hey Gang,

Guess what? this summer on August 21st there will be a
                  total eclipse of
the sun! These are very rare in any part part of the
                  world. If you don't
want to be jetting over to another part of the planet
                  to see them, it
may be a once in a life time event.

The last total eclipse anywhere near us was more in
                  Canada on Feb 26th
1979 or 38 Years ago! Then there was one around
                  Florida and Mexico on
July 11th 1991, 26 years ago. There are also partial
                  or "Annular"
eclipses where you still see the outer ring of the
                  sun, and I took some
Nephues to see the most recent one of those on May
                  20th 2012. The next
total eclipse in our area is in 28 years, though there
                  is one in the
Eastern US in 7 years.

So if you don't want to wait TWENTY EIGHT more years
                  to see the next
one, this is a BIG deal!

It will be easy to see but you'll have to drive a bit.
                  Anywhere along I5
between say Sweet Home, and Wilsonville would do it.
                  However my friends
and I are going to launch a near space balloon to take
                  pictures of the
Eclipse from Eastern Oregon, and chase it through the
                  dark! So if you
want to join us for that, it could be fun. We will
                  probably launch from
Sisters or Bend.

Otherwise it would be cool for all the Canadians to
                  trek down to Eugene
a few days early and then caravan somewhere to watch
                  it. I hear the
tribes will be coalescing in the Ochoco National
                  Forrest, this years
Rainbow gathering site.

The Eclipse takes place on the morning of August 21st
                  around 10:18 AM.
You can click on any city name in the above link to
                  get start times and
total duration. Cities on the centerline will have the
                  longest Eclipses.
Here is a better map of the path through Oregon:

Some states in the Eastern US will get 40 more seconds
                  of totality than
us, lucky dogs! Here are maps of other states:
